{"id":4339,"date":"2023-04-02T22:01:58","date_gmt":"2023-04-02T22:01:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/woodcentral.com.au\/?p=4339"},"modified":"2024-10-21T20:31:27","modified_gmt":"2024-10-21T10:31:27","slug":"report-international-mass-timber-conference-smashes-records","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/woodcentral.com.au\/report-international-mass-timber-conference-smashes-records\/","title":{"rendered":"Report: International Mass Timber Conference Smashes Records"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/masstimberconference.com\/\">The 7th International Mass Timber Conference<\/a>, the world\u2019s largest timber conference, has wrapped up in Portland, Oregon with record attendance of more than 3,000 attending from March 27-29, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/arniedidier\">Arnie Didier<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forestbusinessnetwork.com\/about\/\">Forest Business Network COO and Conference co-producer,<\/a> told Wood Central that the conference was the largest gather ever assembled for a timber event reflecting the growing interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">By the numbers<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Didier provided Wood Central with an extensive break-down:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cThe Mass Timber Boot Camp: Becoming a Mass Timber Design Expert\u201d <strong>SOLD OUT <\/strong>with 306 attendees and another 50 on the wait list<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cThe Women in Timber Luncheon\u201d<strong> SOLD OUT in 30 minutes<\/strong> with 120 in attendance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>60+ speakers, 150+ exhibitors and 16 educational sessions were all<strong> FULLY SUBSCRIBED<\/strong>, with the 150,000 sf (approx. 14,000 sqm) floor space overflowing across the three days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A full list of all the <a href=\"https:\/\/masstimberconference.com\/sponsors\/\">sponsors <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/masstimberconference.com\/exhibit\/floorplan-and-exhibitors\/\">exhibitors <\/a>is available on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.masstimberconference.com\">conference\u2019s official website.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With mass timber displays, axe throwing, interactive research stations \u2013 showcasing the latest in research\u2013 and a multi-storied mass plywood lounge the main floor was a hive of activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, more than 330 attendees participated in a sold-out pre-conference tour of mass timber building and manufacturing facilities in Portland and Eugene, Oregon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"533\" src=\"https:\/\/woodcentral.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/thesis_2023-02-28-233008_jbvc-1024x533.jpg\" alt=\"Preconference attendees visited Thesis's new headquarters which is currently under construction.
