(Photo credit: Timberlink)<br><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/woodcentral.com.au\/shifting-the-paradigm-andrew-waugh-on-the-mass-timber-revolution\/\">In March<\/a>, Wood Central reported that NeXTimber by Timberlink, along with domestic suppliers <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xlam.com.au\">Xlam <\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cusp.com.au\">Cusp<\/a>, add to more than 20 importers who have serviced the market in recent years \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imarcgroup.com\/australia-newzealand-clt-market\">with the Australia and NZ market expecting to exceed 800,000 cubic metres by 2026 according to a report published by imarc last year.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The market in China is also predicted to develop with emerging research <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S2369969820300347\">looking to integrate locally produced bamboo into the product&#8217;s manufacture<\/a>, making it cheaper than conventional construction materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1080\/17452007.2022.2140399?journalCode=taem20\">In late 2022<\/a>, Chinese researchers published new research concluding that Cross-Laminated Bamboo and Timber (CLBT) &#8211; a timber and bamboo composite could successfully bind with further research on commercialising CLBT-engineered panels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the report, the residential segment continues to dominate the global market. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/woodcentral.com.au\/first-post-and-plate-high-rise-revolutionises-mass-timber-construction\/\">Last month<\/a>, Wood Central reported about <a href=\"https:\/\/frereswood.com\/products-and-services\/mass-ply-products\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Freres Lumber\u2019s mass plywood panels<\/a> &#8211; a veneer-based cross-laminated timber product which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.owow.com\/\">oWOW<\/a> hopes to use in 600 global projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Non-residential building applications are also substantial, owing to the widespread use of CLT in constructing office buildings in North America and the Asia Pacific \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/woodcentral.com.au\/australia-champions-decarbonisation-with-worlds-tallest-mass-timber-towers\/\">including Atlassian Central Tower in Sydney<\/a>, a 39-storey hybrid timber combining steel frames and cross-laminated timber panels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The use of CLT in commercial construction is also growing throughout Europe, contributing to the rise of the non-residential building market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information, download the report <a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchandmarkets.com\/r\/ucpfhb\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The global cross-laminated timber market (CLT) is expected triple over the next 7 years reaching USD 4.24 billion by 2030 from USD 1.66 billion, according to a new report published by Quince Market Insights.
